Dear esteemed colleagues,
You are invited to participate in a research study exploring experiences and perspectives on the use of Anti-Racist and Anti-Oppressive (ARAO) practices by social workers engaged in any work around the environment, climate change, environmental disasters, or other place and nature-based topics. Findings may inform future approaches to professional socialization, pedagogy, policy, and research. At this time the study is unfortunately limited to those residing and working in the USA based on IRB and committee preferences. If this changes I will update you!
Participation would take about 40 to 70 minutes and includes completing an online demographic questionnaire and an individual interview which can be completed via email, phone, or zoom. You would also have the opportunity to provide feedback on research methodology and contribute to the discussion of emerging themes and theory.
You are a pivotal member of the growing force of social workers committed to doing this work, so your perspective is valuable. I know that you are incredibly busy, so I greatly appreciate the time taken to review this email and participate, if you choose.
If you are interested in learning more about this study and/or participating, please see the attached flyer, which provides more details and a link and QR code to the screener form. The screener form can also be found here. If eligible, you will be automatically directed to complete the consent form and proceed with all other study procedures. Please reach out with any questions and feel free to circulate this invitation to any networks of individuals you feel may be interested.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best wishes,
Georgianna Lynn Dolan-Reilly, LMSW, PhD Candidate
